Dr. David M. Shorez joined Flushing Dental Care in 2012 and became the owner in 2013. He’s dedicated to improving patient care through ongoing training and modern technology, including Invisalign certification and digital X-rays. He has advanced training in implants, bone grafting, nitrous oxide, and sleep apnea treatment. Outside the office, he enjoys running, golfing, Detroit sports, and time with his two daughters.

Dr. Natalya Brezden grew up in Hamtramck in a close-knit Ukrainian community, with Ukrainian as her first language. She earned a Biology degree from Wayne State and graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry, practicing in Genesee County since 1991. She’s an active member of the ADA, MDA, and Genesee District Dental Society. Patients know her for her warmth and genuine care, and she loves spending time with friends and family.

Dr. Allen Mortimer earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Michigan–Flint (2008) and graduated from Baylor College of Dentistry in 2012, finishing in the top 10 of his class with multiple honors. He’s an active member of the ADA, MDA, and Genesee District Dental Society. Outside the office, he enjoys family time, sports, and serving at his church in several roles. He’s proud to continue Flushing Dental Care’s tradition of friendly, high-quality care.

Dr. Michaela Cogo grew up in Flushing, graduated from Flushing High School in 2013, and is excited to return home to care for her community. She earned her bachelor’s degree at the University of Michigan–Flint and graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry. She’s been practicing general dentistry in Genesee County since 2020 and stays active in the ADA, MDA, and Genesee District Dental Society. Outside the office, she enjoys trips up north, hiking, and board game nights with friends and family.

Dr. Sakka is originally from Homs, Syria and earned her dental degree in 2012 from the University of Kalamoon. She went on to complete specialty training in Periodontics at the University at Buffalo, gaining advanced experience in implant surgery, gum grafting, bone grafting, and atraumatic extractions. She’s a proud member of the American Academy of Periodontology and stays active in continuing education through meetings and workshops. Now living in Flushing, she’s excited to care for local patients and families.

Dr. Ruchi Bhatia graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Dentistry and has over a decade of experience caring for a diverse patient base in southeast Michigan. She focuses on creating a calm, comfortable visit by clearly explaining treatment options and tailoring care to each patient. She’s committed to ongoing continuing education to stay current on the latest techniques and innovations. Outside the office, she enjoys exploring Michigan’s outdoors and is excited to be part of the Flushing Dental Care team.
